place to share some awesome products that I review. I never expected to take so much work and time!
I really think that once I get it setup to my liking it won't be so hard or time consuming, but who knew there was so much to starting a blog. First you have to choose the best blog site. I'm still wondering if I chose the right one for my needs. Let's hope I have, or I'll be having to do this all over again and migrate all my content and followers to a new site.
Next, I had to make it look pretty. That is still a work in progress. I'm a perfectionist, and when it comes to visual presentation, I'm forever changing my mind. I may never finish this part of my blog. The thought that I'll never be satisfied with the way it looks scares me. What if I never find just the right look? Or worse yet, what if when I find the right look, others don't like it? I've got to let this go, I know, but it's not that simple for me.
There are so many things you have to learn, like how to create an RSS feed. I had no idea that in order to get my blog out on sites that could help to get my followers my RSS feed would be so important. I've finally figured that portion out, I think. Once the RSS feed is perfect, and I do mean perfect, because it won't work otherwise, you have to get your feed published on sites like Bloglovin. This allows people to easy follow you and get updates on your blog easier. Whew! Are we done yet?
You also have to publish content. Lots of content. And not just "content" but good, informative, entertaining, valuable content. That's so much easier said than done. Do I write what I think is important and entertaining? Or do I write about what I think others will want to read? How do I know what others will want to read? It's a never ending nightmare!!!
With all that done, I still don't have followers!!!! How do I get followers? I've created a Facebook fan page, and a Twitter account just for my blog. I've published these on social media. I've hounded my friends, and I've pushed for relatives to follow me and share with their friends. I have joined Facebook groups that are to help you get followers on social media and blogs. My Facebook fan page shows that I have 87 followers in a weeks time. I don't think that's too bad, Then I look at my stats of Blogger and I show 8 followers. Really? Only 8? Are the stats wrong? Did I setup something wrong? I'm still trying to figure that out. Hopefully I will figure it out soon and start to get a large following. One can hope, I guess.
I guess the point of this post it to say this is no easy task. It takes time and dedication and I'm dedicated to making this work. Help me make it work. Tell all your friends about it and ask them to follow me. What's the worst than can happen? They don't agree with something I post and perhaps we start a dialogue about something important.
